Selection of digital sketches over the years

Most of my work starts quietly: Procreate on an iPad, a true-crime podcast playing, hours passing unnoticed. I’m drawn to the female form and to the familiar rhythms of my life—my son, my dog, NYC—moving fluidly between animation-inspired sketches and fully rendered digital paintings influenced by oil painting.

This work reinterprets the Manananggal, a female shapeshifting figure from Filipino folklore, through a contemporary visual language. Limited to a three-color palette, the piece explores bifurcation, identity, and myth—using constraint as a way to distill the power and complexity of this female creature.
